Movenpick ice cream boutique

This is one of the best places in Chennai to make yourself happy and celebrate life! It is a original Switzerland based ice cream brand.

Located in Nungambakkam, this ice cream parlour is the best place to relax for a cone of flavourful and delicious handcrafted ice cream. The prices are quite on the higher side ranging upto ₹1000 for a person but the flavour and taste of the ice cream persists in your tongue for up to half an hour!!

The single scoop ice creams are awesome but my favourite is the sundae and in particular ‘Romanoff’. This is a combination of a classic scoop of vanilla goodness and a delightful scoop of strawberry ice cream. The vanilla is a treat for your sweet tooth and the strawberry is a combination of tangy and sweet scoop of heaven! Topped with some real strawberry squash, the sundae is one of the richest varieties of ice cream that one can get in Chennai. The price is ₹700 for the sundae and is a worthy sum for some rich treat once in a while. The ambience of the place is rich although it’s small. On the whole the treat is a must try at least once!

Circle of happiness

Rather than considering the ‘dosa’ to be a circle, it would be apt to say that TOSAI’s dosa is the circle of happiness! Tosai is an eat out that was recently started in Chennai, specialising in dosa offering a banging variety of 99 varieties of the traditional South Indian dosa! It is a little crispy on the outside, soft in its core, a few bumps here and there with lots of spicing!

The ‘pizza dosa’ is a perfect combination of a dosa and pizza in the right proportion! The consistency of the rolled dosa is to perfection and the presentation will make anyone want to eat it! The spices used are on point that reminds you of the classic veggie pizza with loads of cheese that adds happiness and tons of satisfaction for the eater. The dosa is very crispy and thin and the toppings make the dosa a win win which is filling for one person! The toppings add amazing flavour to the dosa : corn, capsicum, onion, panner and spices. On the whole the food is a must try and the eat out is a small open space area in which you can see your extravagant dosa being prepared, with a few benches to sit and enjoy your happy meal! The ambience is good and the price for two would be between ₹ 200- 300.

Illam dosai with garlic kulambu

The name of the recipe itself is very pleasant and charming. There are so many varieties of ‘Dosai’or dosa as it is popularly known. Ghee Roast, Paper Roast varieties appear in every South Indian Restaurant menu. The illam dosai is one among in this restaurant. The soft dosa or the ‘Ilam Dosai’ is a speciality dosa made in our homes. Ilam dosa is absolutely soft and can be folded like a handkerchief. Oil is used very less in this dosa. And this can be the dish of all age groups. These naturally fermented dosa is light on the stomach and can be had for breakfast or dinner. But the texture was simply fantastic, super soft !! It is so delicious and can be served with your choice of chutney and sambar. Here in this restaurant they serve it with garlic kulambu which literally refers to garlic gravy. The garlic kulambu is made using spicies which add lovely aroma to the dish and make this gravy finger licking. I noted that the kulambu have more flavour of pepper which makes prefect sense to this Poondu kuzhambu
It was really yummy to experience the authentic white colour Ilam dosa with this garlic kulambu. It is really a mouth watering and delightful dish.

Kadalai mushrooms with plain Naan.

This restaurant is located in anna nagar. This restaurant’s kadai mushroom is one of the delicious dish I have ever come across. This kadai mushroom is a semi dry curry made with Bell peppers and spicies. It is one of the hot, spicy, flavourful and delicious mushroom dish. It also has unique aroma. This mushroom gravy can be served with plain rice, flavoured rice like jeera rice, ghee rice, roti, chapattis, plain paratha. This combination goes well for lunch. I experienced this kadai mushroom gravey with plain Naan. I would suggest that plain Naan will be a best combination. In place of kadai mushroom, the restaurant also provides dish replaced with Panneer that is kadai Panneer.

The texture of the burger is really good and has a crispy outer coating. It is topped with with chilli flavoured sauce. The sauce that goes on top is what makes the burger more juicy and appetising. In this restaurant the burger is served along with baby potato stir fry. The oozy melting cheese is placed inside the burger along with a combination of pepper, red chilli flakes and veggies. It is a crispy spicy burger rounded with tomato herb mayo. Cost of this burger is just 119, which is a cost effective snack. To describe it in one word this is really a lip smacking burger.
