Sigree Global Grill is one of my absolute favourite restaurant to invest your money and time for a wholesome buffet in Chennai.
Located in various locations in Chennai, Sigree is one of the most sought after dining place due to its value for money. Located on the 4th floor of The Spring Hotel, Nungambakkam, Sigree resembles any Barbeque place but is quite spacious to look at and also not that cramped. The buffet tables arranged in one side with the live counters and chaat counters in the corners. I had my best dinner experinces in Sigree and it’s a great place for birthday celebrations too! The buffet offers a wide variety of cuisines ranging from Indian, Mexican, Chinese , American and Italian cusines!
The classical mojito is a must try and is offered a welcome drink which is soulfully energizing. The buffet offers a wide range of starters which are to be grilled on the barbeque which is placed in the centre of the table. I was served 6 starters which included the classic Paneer tikka, the crispy corn fries, the spicy potato cubes marinated in a curd based sauce, tingly masala pineapple chunks, ever green mushroom tikkis and a mini cheesy pizza whic is mouth watering!
These starters are stomach filling and I couldn’t taste even a little of the main course! The main course had flavourful pulao, steamy plain rice , tangy rasam, and three gravies.
The chat counter requires separate attention and offers the best Pani puris!!!
Finally, when i came to satisfy my sweet tooth, I was wholly pleased by the freshly baked brownies, golden brown caramel pastries and the strawberry short cakes. The dessert counter also had the hot and evergreen Gulab janums and finally the authentic “pal peda” ( a north Indian milk sweet). My journey of an everlasting dinner came to and end after a small cup of vanilla ice cream with choco chips and butterscotch chips ! The price for two is approximately Rs. 1500 and is a grab for the memorable taste! The ambience is welcoming and warm.
